However, event planners are not neglecting the advantages of live streaming, which allows for greater reach and flexibility in attendance. This trend has led to the adoption of virtual venue software, enabling remote attendees to participate in the event and creating a more inclusive experience for all.
Enhancing the digital production of the Charity Film Awards
The client’s primary objective was to create a seamless event stream to their website to promote the cause-based films for the Smiley Movement to enhance the digital production of their 6th annual film awards.
The event was held at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square, one of the largest cinema stages in the world. Giggabox was tasked with capturing content through cameras positioned in the room to be vision mixed onto the main screen. Additionally, a manned camera was used to catch interviews with the 13 winners. The feeds were then streamed to the Smiley Movement’s charity website.
The logistical requirements for the event were significant due to the venue’s size, requiring Giggabox to mix the feeds appropriately for the big screen. The interviews with the winners also had to be edited and turned around in less than 16 hours after the event.
The project showcased Giggabox’s ability to manage complex logistics and deliver high-quality results within a tight turnaround time.

The Charity Film Awards is the world’s largest campaign to promote cause-based films. More than 2,500 causes have benefitted – gaining exposure, donations and volunteers.
